Fourth and Inches: Are you ready for some football?
Thursday, August 31, 2006FOURTH
Well the time has finally come. Tonight begins another season of football and needless to say I have been chomping at the bit. So many questions to be answered. Did Bomar's conduct cost OU a shot at the title? Is Lloyd Carr in trouble up at Michigan? How does USC perform without all those Heisman trophy winners? Can Mack Brown and Texas repeat as national champs? Does Tuberville and Auburn finally get an invitation to play in a national championship game? Just so many questions. We can now start answering them with the play on the field. Tonight I like Boston College and South Carolina on the road at Central Michigan and Mississippi State respectively and on Saturday I like Arkansas to upset the Trojans of USC. Look forward to sharing my thoughts with you all as the season progresses.
INCHES
If you remember in my inaugural column I ask that you not hold that championship prediction against me. Now that Bonehead, oops I mean Bomar has screwed the Sooners I would like to make a new prediction and this one you can hold against me. I'm still predicting Auburn to be there (all key games are at home) and my opposition to the War Eagles will be the Mountaineers of West Virginia who only have to get by Louisville in the Big East and they will be home free. There you have it. AUBURN V. WEST VIRGINIA.
