How Good Are The Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta on TFV - 11/30/2006 2:04:59 PM

It would be easy to reject the 2006-2007 Hawks as playoff contenders. It would be even easier to lump them in with the teams of the previous few years when they compiled records of 28-54, 13-69, and 26-56. After all, the Hawks opened the season getting hammered by Philadelphia. The season started on a bad note and continued as the Hawks were on a stretch of losing 6 of 7 games entering last night.

Atlanta Signs Lorenzen Wright to Two Year Deal

Atlanta on TFV - 8/7/2006 5:28:01 PM

I haven’t heard much talk about the Hawks signing Lorenzen Wright to a 2 year deal very small blurb in the AJC. While it is still contingent on the Harrington sign and trade, I thought that was a huge deal. Wright really doesn’t bring much in terms of overwhelming stats, but he will be a huge impact for this team. Atlanta desperately needed veteran support on the frontline. He is exactly that. He might not average more than 5 points and 5 boards a game unless injury forces him into significant playing time. However, he will be a reliable choice for Coach Woodson to go to.

With The Fifth Pick The Hawks Select...

NBA Articles - 6/13/2006 12:00:00 AM

There is a rumor floating around to the dismay of Hawks fans that the team is considering drafting Sheldon Williams of Duke. Local media is having a field day attacking this potential pick. For all those disagreeing with the choice, tell me who you would pick at #5? Adam Morrison? LaMarcus Aldridge? Tyrus Thomas? Rudy Gay? No! No! No! And No! Only one of those names could fall to #5 and it isn’t Morrison or Aldridge. Thomas and Gay are just the kind of players the Hawks need to stay away from.
