Myers is scum but he still pitched a good game last night. Typical Phillies self destructing in the 9th. The worst part is that they're in limbo land where they can't decide whether to buy or sell as the trade deadline approaches. Rumors of Abreu, Burrell, and Gordon going for A-Rod were funny. Yanks would have been handed the trophy right then and there if that trade actually happened.

Phillies just don't know how to get runners in. That seems impossible with Rollins and Utley in the top of the order, but they still manage to strand everyone.

The rumor makes no sense. Minus the contract, every team would love A-Rod. Why would Philadelphia give up multiple players for anyone? They need an A-Rod to get those runners in, but they need multiple players. They would be better suited giving up Abreu for multiple players in return.

I agree, but Abreu's contract isn't too enticing for a lot of teams. I heard the Yankees did come calling but the Phillies turned it down. Deals of the proposed trade didn't go public except that NY wanted Abreu. Worst in the NL with runners in scoring position is definitely something that needs to be addressed. In the end, the Phillies are always going to be the Phillies. They suck!!
